About Me
Murielle Majiteu is a Cameroonian researcher and PhD candidate in Ecology and Wildlife Management at the University of Dschang, Cameroon. Her work focuses on biodiversity conservation, wildlife ecology, and ecosystem monitoring in tropical ecosystems, with particular interest in protected areas, functional ecology, and human impacts on biodiversity.
She has extensive field experience in ecological research across savanna, forest, and coastal ecosystems in Cameroon, including studies conducted in Bénoué National Park and the Douala-Edéa coastal zone. Her expertise includes camera trapping, biodiversity monitoring, GIS and spatial analysis, community-based research, and the integration of ecological and socio-environmental data to support conservation planning and sustainable ecosystem management.
Murielle has contributed to several multidisciplinary conservation initiatives and has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications on wildlife conservation and ecosystem dynamics in Cameroon. Her current research explores innovative approaches combining field ecology, spatial analysis, and AI-assisted environmental monitoring to strengthen biodiversity conservation and adaptive management strategies.
She is a recipient of the CARN Aspire Grant, the Idea Wild Equipment Grant, and Erasmus+ Programme support. Through her work, she is committed to advancing science-based conservation in Africa while promoting the participation of women and local communities in environmental research and decision-making.
