About Me
Patricia Bi Asanga Fai is a Professor of Environmental Toxicology at the University of Dschang, Cameroon, with over two decades of academic, research, and leadership experience.
She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia (UK), an MSc in Zoology (Ecology and Environmental Biology), and a BSc in Zoology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her expertise centres on environmental toxicology, ecotoxicology, and environmental and human health risk assessment, with a strong focus on pesticides, heavy metals, e‑waste, aquatic ecosystems, and food and water safety.
Prof. Fai has published extensively in high‑impact international journals and has supervised numerous PhD and MSc students across environmental toxicology, ecology, and risk assessment. She teaches courses from the undergraduate to the doctoral level in ecotoxicology, environmental risk assessment and management, aquaculture, and research methodology.
Her career is distinguished by major international awards and fellowships, including the Commonwealth Scholarship, Commonwealth Fellowship, Fulbright Research Scholar, Erasmus+, and recognition as a Fellow of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). She has held significant administrative and professional leadership roles, notably as the first President of SETAC Africa, contributing to capacity building, policy engagement, and the advancement of environmental science in Africa.
